Research Experience and Activity
Principle Investigator, “Theory and Experimental Research of Linkages in order to improve its dynamic characteristics”, supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Grant No. 59675004;
In this project,I developed a method for the vibration control of flexible linkages. By adjusting the length of the crank, the minimum end effector vibration deformation can be yielded. The experimental prototype of the linkages with variable length crank is designed. The experimental results agree with the theoretical one essentially and prove the feasibility of the theory.
Principle Investigator, “Dynamics analysis and Design of High-speed Elastic Planetary Gear”, supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Grant No.50205019;
In this project, I developed the elastic dynamic model of high-speed planetary gear trains, in which many factors are taken into account, such as time-varying mesh stiffness, mesh error and flexibility of the ring gear. Sensitivities of dynamic performance to system parameters are analyzed in details.
Co-PI, “Research on Modeling Method of Digital Prototyping Integrated Analysis and Application Study for Complex Mechanical System”, supported by National High Technology Research and Development Program ("863"Program) of China, Grant No. 2006AA04Z115;
A digital prototyping-based complex product integrated analysis system is put forward. Multi-dimensional research has been conducted on basic concept, technical frame, information model and formalization; integrated analyses have been constructed based on digital prototyping modeling, component analysis, multi- disciplinary cooperation optimization, and multi-phase performance analysis; basic theories of information, knowledge and process have been established to accomplish multi-level multi- disciplinary multi-phase analysis process.

In order to prolonging service life, improving cutting efficiency and the geology adaptability, the mechanism of cooperative cutting is researched and geological adaptive research of cutting tools layout is proposed by using the technical methods such as mechanics modeling, numerical simulation, experimental research techniques.
Coordinating Investigator, “Research on the Performance Evaluation Method on the Topological Structure of a Tunnel Boring Machine’s Cutter-Head”, supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Grant No. 51275339;
The Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) is widely used in the world while lacking research in China. For the lack of mature instruction from the performance evaluation theory of the TBM's Cutter-head topological structure, the parameters of machine, the rock properties and the machine operation do not match well with each other, which leads to the excessive and abnormal wear of the cutting tools and cutter-head, the high failure and the more energy consumption of the machine and the lower efficiency in boring, etc. This project aims at extracting mathematical description of the parameters of the cutter-head topology structure and the ground condition with Rough Set Theory, distinguishing the sophisticated coupling association among the multi-area parameters which decides the performance of the TBM cutter-head, establishing the mathematical models which describe the TBM dynamic performance and revealing the influence mechanism from topological structure of the cutter-head on the TBM performance under different ground conditions. Then, the evaluation index system is established with non-linear regression method. On this foundation, the calculation method of the evaluation index and the regulation method of machine's operational parameters are established, which finally constitute an exhaustive prediction & evaluation method of the cutter-head's topological structure performance. Finally, the results are verified and improved through lab experiment and practical engineering project. An integrated performance evaluation theory will be established, which provides theoretical support to the cutter-head design and the construction optimization.
Principle Investigator, “Research on the bearing capacity of three-ring gear reducer”, supported by Nanjing precision gears Co., LTD China.
In the project, by considering the over-constraint characteristic of three-ring transmission and the coordinate condition of the mechanism's elastic deformation, the elastic static model aimed at force bearing analysis of three-ring reducer was established. And by the use of this model the force bearing condition of a certain typed three-ring reducer and the influence on its force bearing condition affected by the structural type and bearing rigidity of the three-ring reducer were analyzed.
