Dr. Can WANG is an associate professor in Tianjin University from July 2009. He received his B.A. degree from TongJi University in 2004 and his Ph.D. degrees from Tsinghua University in 2009. Now he is also the vice director of the department of environmental engineering in Tianjin University.

His researches mainly focus on biofiltration of industrial contaminants, odor control system and the microbial community structure/function analysis. His detailed research interests cover: Selection/cultivation of special environmental contaminants degrading microorganisms; Application of thermophilic bacteria in biofilters; Development of effective biofiltration system for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and odorants treatments; Analysis and optimization of the microbial community structure/functions in the biofilters.

He has published 2 academic monographs and more than 60 papers on both the International and National Journals, including 35  SCI papers (the impact factors of 10 papers are higher than 5.0). There are more than 20 on-going projects, which were financed by government (Natural Science Foundation of China, or by Chinese Minister of Education) or international and national companies. The total research funding has exceeded 1,000,000 CNY.
