Qiang Gao holds B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Harbin Institute University, where he studied the optics. From 2014 to 2016, he did his research at Lund university as a postdoctor, where he focused on combustion laser diagnostics. In 2016, he joined the Tianjin university as lecturer.
Research interests include:
- Develop new techniques for combustion and flow field laser diagnostics;
- Detect the distribution and concentration of divers species generated in combustion processes;
- Explore new applications of non-intrusive in situ optical techniques in energy and environmental fields, and investigate the chemical reactions in terms of improving efficiency and reducing emission;
- Diagnose various engines, e.g. piston engine, gas turbine and scramjet, using optical techniques.
