In 2018, he earned his PhD from Tianjin University and subsequently joined the Center for Biosafety Research and Strategy at Tianjin University, where he dedicated himself to research in microbial synthetic biology and biosafety. His primary focus in natural science research includes the utilization of cyanobacteria, Escherichia coli, and lactococcus lactis as biotechnological chassis. His work encompasses the analysis of abiotic stress mechanisms, carbon dioxide conversion, biological remediation, biomedical engineering, and related areas. He has contributed significantly to scientific literature, publishing over 70 papers in esteemed journals such as Science Advances, Cell Reports, ACS Nano, Chemical Engineering Journal, Metabolic Engineering, and Biotechnology Advances. His biosafety research is centered on security strategies, biological industry chain strategies, dual-use biotechnology, energy security, and environmental security. He serves on the editorial board of Blue Biotechnology and Discover Applied Sciences as well as youth editorial board member of Green Carbon, acts as a review editor for Frontiers in Plant Science, and is a guest editor for Microorganisms. Beyond academia, he actively participates in professional organizations, serving as a standing member of the Biosafety Special Committee of the China Medical Biotechnology Association. Recognized for his contributions, he holds positions as a Peiyang Scholar and a young backbone teacher at Tianjin University. Additionally, he represents the university as a member of the Tianjin Young Science and Technology Workers Association and contributes to the carbon neutral initiative as a member of the special committee at the Tianjin Renewable Energy Society. His leadership is evident in his role as the principal investigator for two National Natural Science Foundation projects and two sub-projects under the national key research and development plan.
