Jia Xiaoqiang is an associate professor and master tutor in the Department of Biochemical Engineering, School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Tianjin University (TJU). He received his PhD from Tianjin University in 2008. In 2013 he was selected for the "Peiyang Scholars-Elite Scholar Program of Tianjin University". From 2015 to 2016 he worked in the Department of Chemical Engineering in the University of New Hampshire as a visiting scholar. His research expertise is in the environmental biotechnology, such as biodegradation of environmental pollutants, biological detection of toxic pollutants and microbial synthesis of biodegradable plastics, etc.
He has published 26 peer reviewed international papers as first or corresponding author, including 21 SCI-cited papers, 6 TOP Journal papers, 2 1-section papers, 9 2-section papers and 4 Chinese papers, and 55 peer reviewed international papers as second or other author, including 49 SCI-cited papers, 19 TOP Journal papers, 11 1-section papers, 23 2-section papers and 6 Chinese papers. He has applied for 18 Chinese patents as first inventor, one of which has got the authorization. He has led more than 10 national, provincial or ministerial level funds, including the "973" project, the "863" project, the National Natural Science Foundation, Tianjin Natural Science Foundation, etc.
