Brief Introduction

Xingang Li received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Tianjin University in 1982 and then his M.S. and in Chemical Engineering from the Tianjin University in 1985. Li joined the faculty of the Chemical Engineering Department becoming a lecture at the Tianjin University, where he became Associate Professor in 1992 and became Professor in 1999. Also, Li received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Tianjin University in 1992. In 2001 Li was appointed the vice director of National Engineering Research Center for Distillation Technology, and became the chair director in 2008 until now. In his roles in the National Engineering Research Center for Distillation Technology, Li has led many programs to develop breakthrough technologies for the process design optimization and internals design of distillation columns. Li’s research expertise and interest are in the area of the intensification and energy saving in chemical engineering process, with specific focus on the advanced distillation technology and devices, reaction and distillation coupled technology development and application, and fundamental research on transport process. Moreover, Li’ s researches also contain the field of environmental pollution control and development of the unconventional oil, such as the recovery of VOCs and the utilization of the oil sand.
