Shengping Wang earned her B.S. (1994) and M.S. (2000)
degrees from Hebei University of Technology and her Ph.D. degree (2003) from
Tianjin University, all in Chemical Engineering. She joined the faculty of
Tianjin University in 2003, where she is currently a full professor in Chemical
Engineering. She was a visiting professor at the University of California,
Berkeley with the cooperation of Professor Enrique Iglesia in 2012-2013. Her research interests in surface science and catalysis includethe
utilization of synthesis gas, and capture and utilization of CO2,
with particular emphasis on design and structure-performance relationship of catalytic
and adsorbent materials. Her research focuses
on the synthesis of novel catalytic solids, their
in-situ structural and mechanistic characterization, and the detailed modeling
of kinetic and transport processes in catalytic processes relevant to the
synthesis of organic carbonate and CO2 conversion. She has
published more than 50 papers as the first and corresponding author in
prestigious journals such as Energy
Environ. Sci., J. Mater. Chem., Nanoscale, ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces, AIChE
J., Ind. Eng. Chem. Res., J. Mol. Catal. A, Microporous Mesoporous Mater., RSC
Adv.. She has also obtained 15 patents in China and 3 applications for
international patents.
