Dr. Jun Zhao is a professor
of School of Mechanical Engineering in Tianjin University, China. He was
majored in Engineering Thermal Physics, and he received his B.E., M.E. and Ph.D. degrees from Tianjin University, China in
1985, in 1987 and in 2003 respectively. From May
to December 2011, He was a visiting scholar in Maryland University, USA. Dr. Jun
Zhao was a vice-dean of School of Mechanical Engineering of Tianjin University
from April 2005 to October 2009. And now he is the director
of Key Laboratory of Efficient Utilization of Low and Medium Grade Energy (Tianjin
University), MOE. From 2007 to 2016, he was the executive director of
China Renewable Energy Society. And now he is a committee member of the Seventh
Committee of Engineering Thermodynamics Branch, Chinese Society of Engineering
Thermophysics and a committee member of technical committee for standardization
of geothermal energy field in energy industry.
His research
interests include theoretical investigation and new method of energy saving and
efficient utilization of low-medium temperature thermal energy, theory and
technology of low-medium grade energy and distributed energy system, and technology
and new method of emission reduction in energy system. Dr. Zhao published over
200 papers including more than 90 SCI/EI indexed papers, two books, and five
industry standards (rules) as the editor in chief or as an editor. And he is
the project leader of more than 30 scientific research projects including a National
Science and Technology Support Program during the Eleventh Five-Year Plan
Period (as the team leader).He has received 2 second prize of national teaching achievement,and 2 third prize of Tianjin Science and Technology Progress Awards. Up to now, Professor Zhao has supervised 18 Ph.D. students.
