Brief Introduction

Dr. Zeng is an Associate Professor at the Center for Sustainable Development Science, School of Earth Sciences, Tianjin University. Her research focuses on climate change economics, with particular interests in disaster economic risk assessment, post-disaster recovery and governance mechanisms, extreme weather risk quantification, and sustainable development policy analysis.

Academically, she conducted undergraduate and graduate studies at Beijing Forestry University under Professor Junguo Liu, specializing in water footprint and water resources research, which laid a solid foundation in the field of resources and environment. She then pursued doctoral studies at the School of International Development, University of East Anglia, under the supervision of Professor Dabo Guan, Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences, UK. During her PhD, she developed a disaster footprint accounting methodology based on input-output models, employing economic input-output theory to systematically assess indirect economic losses caused by disaster events and post-disaster recovery patterns from an industrial chain perspective. Subsequently, she conducted postdoctoral research at Imperial College London, working with Professor Laixiang Sun, Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences, UK, and Professor Ralf Toumi, further expanding her research into the interdisciplinary areas of extreme weather risk quantification and sustainable development policy. This interdisciplinary research trajectory has led to systematic academic contributions at the intersection of resource management, climate risk, and sustainable development policy.
