On November 23, 2015, Tianjin University alumnus Professor Zhang Guangjun was appointed President of Southeast University,
Professor Zhang was awarded his Bachelor's, Master's and doctoral degrees in precision instrument engineering at Tianjin University from 1982 to 1991. He was elected an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, is a professor and doctoral supervisor, and is the Director of the Chinese Society for Optical Engineering. In 2000 Professor Zhang was appointed as the chief professor of the “Chang Jiang Scholars Program” by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. He has served as the Party Committee Member, Vice-president and Dean of the Graduate School of Beihang University.
