AIChE Tianjin University student chapter won the Outstanding Student Chapter

On October 8, 2018, AIChE Tianjin university student chapter got a breakthrough again--another award of Outstanding Student Chapter.

The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) awards Outstanding Student Chapter to 18 outstanding chapters from more than 200 Student chapters worldwide each year.

The selection criteria for Outstanding Student Chapter include the degree of participation of students and teachers, the number of conferences and activities held, and the contribution to AIChE contests. Out of the 18 excellent chapters, the names of student chapters outside North America rarely appear.

Because of the joint efforts of President Mingchun Ye and many other members, The student chapter of Tianjin university won the award in 2018. The award is especially precious because the names of student chapters outside North America are rarely seen among the 18 outstanding chapters.

This is the second time that the AIChE Tianjin university student chapter has won the award since its establishment in 2016, and the chapter has won the title of "Outstanding Student Chapter" for two consecutive times in 2017 and 2018.

In the annual meeting of AIChE students' chapter in 2017, Wenjie Liao, the first President of AIChE Tianjin university student chapter, introduced the Chem-E-Car competition and conducted the experience of sharing report of regional finals, leading the AIChE Tianjin university student chapter to make a new breakthrough.

At the same time, Ziang Xu, a senior student of chemical engineering, also won the Travel Grant Award in 2017. Only 8 undergraduates in the world won this Award.

At present, AIChE Tianjin university student chapter has more than 100 student members, three student laboratories, a student work conference room, a 3D printer and related training courses. Recently, we are going to attend the Chem-E-Car global finals in Pittsburgh. Hope we can get another breakthrough!
