“Smart Space Station” Opens the First Class through Cloud Classroom Network for Tanchang School

On March 11, at the Tanchang No. 1 Middle School, Gansu Province, 3,600 students shared the same lesson: a class with the topic “To be dream chasers, making a difference in the new era”. The lesson was taught by four outstanding students from Tianjin University 1700 kilometers away through the "Smart Space Station" cloud classroom network.

"The power of science and technology", "The meaning of service", "The value of struggle"... Through multimedia projection and the cloud platform, the four Tianjin University students, Hu Yanjie, a college student after military service, Chen Mingxi, the winner of the "Tianjin University Students Nobel Prize", Hou Fang, the former chairman of the university Student Union, and Liu Kejia, a Partner of the 92Drink Entrepreneurship Team, shared their life stories and their struggles with the teachers and students at Tanchang No. 1 Middle School. They encouraged the young students to aspire to be diligent, virtuous, wise, loyal, patriotic, inspiring, truth-seeking, and committed. Through the interactive screen, they cheered the senior students who were about to attend the college entrance examination shouting: "We are all working hard, and we are all dream chasers! "

After class, the head teacher, Gao of Class 1, Grade 1 at the School, was deeply impressed: "Thank you! It's very important to guide students' values.” Zhang Ning, a student of Class 7, Grade 2, likened the class to “thirst relief”. He said: "These excellent upperclassmen allowed me to understand what young people should do. We should study hard, take responsibility and make a difference. This was the most vivid interpretation of General Secretary Xi Jinping's entrusting youth with the will to struggle!"

The initiators of this "First Class" were two girls of the Gansu branch of the Tianjin University Postgraduate Education Support Group, Mou Tong and Zhao Danning. Together with the Tianjin University Student Science and Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Association, they set up a “Smart Space Station” cloud classroom between Tianjin University and the Tanchang School, which crossed 1,700 kilometers and realized cloud interactive communication. They recruited lecturers throughout Tianjin University. These lecturers plan to give 15 classes for the students of School this semester. With the help of cameras and projection equipment, through humorous language expression and easy-to-understand lectures, high school students in poverty-stricken areas will be able to understand the university's scientific and technological knowledge and professional trends in advance, and their yearning for future university life will be strengthened.

In the future, the Tianjin University Postgraduate Education Support Group will continue to explore the systematization, scientization and normalization of the "Smart Space Station", so that high-quality teachers of Tianjin University will become the source of power to help students in poverty-stricken mountainous areas grow up to pursue their dreams.
