Tianjin University and the University of Oulu to Advance Substantial Cooperation

On May 7, 2019, Jouko Niinimaki, the Rector of the University of Oulu, led his delegation to visit Tianjin University. Vice president of Tianjin University Yuan Yingjin and other representatives met with the delegation.

Vice President Yuan said that Tianjin University attaches importance to the internationalization of the university. Tianjin University is developing the training system of top-notch talents, and is looking forward to cooperating with the University of Oulu on the cutting-edge areas of engineering. The two universities made a discussion on developing comprehensive cooperation including research collaboration, student and staff exchanges as well as university-industry cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence and 6G ENESIS. Both universities reached a consensus on advancing substantial cooperation.

The University of Oulu is an international science university which creates innovation for the future, well-being, and knowledge through research and education. Founded in 1958, the University of Oulu has 13 500 students and 2800 employees, and is one of the biggest and the most multidisciplinary universities in Finland. The university consists of eight faculties and many specialized research units.
