On March 25th, the launch ceremony of the Student Growth and Development Center of the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology (SCET) was held in Building 50. More than 50 representatives from the Employment Guidance Center and Mental Health Education Center of the school attended the ceremony.

The center is comprised of four rooms neatly decorated with bright colored sofas, walls and desks. It delivers a sense of hope, warmth and comfort to those visiting the facility. The center aims to provide students with a mentor appointment system to conduct student consultations and will establish various training camps.

Following the launch ceremony, the center greeted its first batch of visitors. The Center has a spacious venue for group activities, a conversation room where psychological counseling can be carried out and a special room designed for decompression. It was established by the Student Affairs Office of the School of Chemical Engineering for students' emotional and psychological well-being and education. It will provide students with psychological consultation and serve as a training camp for health education, emergency care, career planning, and leadership training. “In this center, students will get customized help and experiential teaching aids as long as they want,” a spokesman from the Student Affairs Office said.

Current plans are that as the center is equipped with hardware facilities, professional teachers will soon be introduced to start relevant work helpful for students’ growth and development.
