On October 31, 2020, the 9th International Conference of ICE Reliability Technology was grandly opened in Jinan, Shandong Province. Jin Donghan, the academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, chairman of China Society of Internal Combustion Engine, and President of Tianjin University attended and delivered a speech.
A selection of specialists including 1500 experts, scholars, and industry representatives participated in the conference. They co-discussed the basic theory and key generic technologies of internal combustion engine reliability, promoted the innovation of the internal combustion engine industry, contributed to the progress of reliability technology of Chinese internal combustion engine, and assisted with the high-quality development of China's manufacturing industry.
Jin congratulated on the successful convening of the conference. He said the internal combustion engine industry is a foundation for the Chinese national economy and national defense construction, and its technical progress and development are related to energy security, ecological environment, rural revitalization, and people's livelihood. As an important technical index to evaluate internal combustion engine products, reliability is an important reflection of the core competitiveness of the products. Now, several high-tech businesses, represented by Weichai, have conducted the key and core technology research on reliability and have achieved impressive achievements. He pointed out that it is essential for this conference to boost in-depth integration among enterprises, universities, and research institutes, promote the rapid progress of the key and core technology of internal combustion engines, and improve the competitiveness of China's internal combustion engine products.
“Since 2012, the International Conference of ICE Reliability Technology has been successfully held for eight years”, said Tan Xuguang the vice president of Chinese Society for Internal Combustion Engines, dean of the State Key Laboratory of Internal Combustion Engine Reliability, Chairman of Weichai group, “it has become an important platform for the improvement and development of reliability technology in the internal combustion engine industry”. Guided by the principle of "openness, sharing and win-win benefits", Weichai group will give full play to the role of the platform in promoting the innovation of industry-university-research integration. Together with the industry colleagues, Weichai focuses on core technology and major original innovation of internal combustion engines, so as to contribute to the development of the world's internal combustion engine industry and the advancement of China's internal combustion engine industry towards the top level.
Noting that the reliability of the internal combustion engine directly affects the performance and service life of the supporting equipment, profoundly influences the sustainable and high-quality development of the internal combustion engine and related industries, Xing Min the Secretary General of China Internal Combustion Engine Industry Association said. Today, there is still room for improvement in the high-strength machine technology, high-performance key components technology, advanced combustion technology and so on. Around the topic of the internal combustion engine reliability and key and common technology, he encouraged that in-depth communication, cooperation and innovations could be carried out, as a way to support China's internal combustion engine industry reliability theory and technology breakthroughs, and jointly promote the development of the internal combustion engine industry.
The conference sponsored by the State Key Laboratory of internal combustion engine reliability, and co-organized by China Internal Combustion Engine Society, China Internal Combustion Engine Industry Association, Shandong University, and so on. During the conference, experts and specialists presented sub forum reports. More than 40 experts from well-known scientific research institutes at home and abroad, including Tsinghua University and Zhejiang University, published 80 reports on the reliability of the internal combustion engine, the reliability of key components of an internal combustion engine. Affected by the epidemic, experts from institutes such as MIT, AVL, IAV, FEV, Southwest Research Institute of the United States, and Weichai overseas innovation center participated in the conference online.
