On October 28, 2020, the project titledPassenger Flow Forecast Algorithm in High-speed Railway Passenger Intelligence Guidance Systemled by Associate Prof. Tang Shanjiang's team from Tianjin University’s College of Intelligence and Computing won the Second Prize at the Fifth China Innovation Challenge (Tianjin) Contest. The team also signed a memorandum of understanding with Tianjin Aopasibo Electronic Information Technology Co., Ltd. to tackle key technical problems on this project.

ThePassenger Flow Forecast Algorithm in High-speed Railway Passenger Intelligent Guidance Systemproposed by Tang's team puts forward feasible solutions for certain technical difficulties in current passenger flow statistics, dynamic monitoring of passenger flow and future passenger flow forecast. It enables high-speed railway stations make more targeted overall arrangements such as controlling the number of broadcasts, guiding bus routes through small-scale broadcasts, and displaying bus number information in a more targeted way to realize dynamic passenger flow guidance, minimize passenger crowds, and ensure passenger safety, thus effectively improving user experience.
