On August 30, Professor Yang Xianjin was appointed the Secretary of the Party Committee of Tianjin University by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee.
Prof. Yang is to succeed Prof. Li Jiajun who is to retire after 5 years in the post.
Prof. Yang Xianjin was born in December, 1962. He once served as the Executive Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Tianjin University, Secretary of the Party Committee of East China University of Science and Technology, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tongji University, Vice Governor and Member of the Party Group of Fujian Provincial People's Government, Member of the Standing Committee of Fujian Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Organization Department.
