In Tanchang County, Guanting Town of Gansu Province, the villagers are in no hurry to go home after a busy day at work. Instead, they gather together to admire the high walls. It is a "drastic change" from the original barren walls of the village that the walls now are painted with blue sky, clear water and mountains, which impresses and refreshes local residents. The Tan Hui Youth Practice Team from the College of Intelligence Computing of Tianjin University came here to design a beautiful countryside with wall paintings, and helped to boost rural revitalization with their talents and painting skills.
Despite the hot summer, the TJU students created wall paintings of over 300 square meters after understanding local needs, finishing drafts of designs and doing fieldwork, making the walls of Wangjia Village, Dengqiao Village and Chela nine-year school in Tanchang County a "new look". These wall paintings involve in "rural revitalization", "living environment" and "education development" with figures of happy farmers harvesting fruits, innocent children smiling brightly and so on. The local villagers all praised these exquisite paintings: "Thank you guys for designing so beautiful walls. Hope to see you here again!"
"The colorful wall paintings show the local specialties of Tanchang, and improve the local living environment." Liang Shaonan, the instructor of the practice team said, "Witnessing the complete victory in the fight against poverty and experiencing the great progress on rural revitalization is a meaningful exploration for students to play their professional expertise."
