First Prize in the Second National Teaching Innovation Contest

On July 31, the second National Teaching Innovation Contest for College Teachers was concluded at Xi'an Jiaotong University. Tianjin University (TJU) won one first prize and three third prizes, ranking third in terms of number of awards. And TJU was granted the award for excellent organization as the organizer of the competition in the Tianjin division.

The theme of this event was "promoting teaching innovation and cultivating first-class talent". A total of 1,462 teachers from 267 colleges and universities participated and 205 courses were shortlisted for on-site evaluation.

The team led by Liu Yanli from the School of Electrical and Information Engineering was awarded first prize with the course Power System Fundamentals. Besides, the team led by Li Lei from the College of Management and Economics, the team led by Wang He and the team led by Yang Ning from Law School were awarded third prizes with courses of Public Crisis Management, Design and Humanities - Contemporary Public Art and Criminal Law Case Studies respectively.

The national contest has been approved by the Ministry of Education. The contest for college teachers is divided into three levels: the preliminary school competition, provincial competition and national competition, and it has two tracks: universities under the Ministry and local ones.
