Brief Introduction

Dr. Guangyuan Zhang, Associate Professor under the "Peiyang Scholar Program" at Tianjin University, holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Queen Mary University of London and is a recipient of the Ministry of Education's Outstanding Overseas Postdoctoral Talent Recruitment Program. His research focuses on spatiotemporal tessellation and coding, spatiotemporal intelligence, and low-altitude technology and engineering. His specific interests include discrete global grid systems (DGGS), elastic spatiotemporal grids and coding theory, as well as spatiotemporal database systems and low-altitude airspace planning and management engineering technologies. He has participated in over 10 projects or initiatives, including the National 973 Program, the National 863 Program, the National Key R&D Program, major national defense projects, and projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published more than 20 academic papers and been granted over 10 international or Chinese patents. The technologies he developed have been implemented by government departments and technology enterprises such as the Shanghai Municipal Big Data Bureau, Huawei, and China Unicom, with cumulative technology transfer results exceeding RMB 2 million. He received one First Prize for Geographic Information Science and Technology Progress in 2025, and has led or contributed to the release of six national, industry, or local standards.
