Liu Chang, female, hold a Ph.D. and serve as an associate professor and master's supervisor at the School of Civil Engineering, Tianjin University. I am also a registered civil engineer (geotechnical).
My long - term academic and research endeavors center around multiple critical domains. These involve comprehensive investigations into the deformation analysis and control technologies throughout the entire construction process of deep, large - scale, and long - span foundation pits. Moreover, I am dedicated to exploring the prefabrication and seismic - resistance aspects of underground engineering, evaluating the environmental impacts and deformation control in tunnel engineering, developing green and low - carbon technologies for underground engineering, and researching the design and construction techniques of pile foundations.
In terms of academic recognition, I have been the recipient of several esteemed awards. In 2015, I was honored with the Second - Class National Science and Technology Progress Award. The year 2014 witnessed my receipt of the First - Class Science and Technology Progress Award from the Ministry of Education. In 2018, I was conferred the First - Class Tianjin Science and Technology Progress Award. In 2022, I was awarded the Second - Class Jiangsu Province Science and Technology Progress Award. In 2021, I had the privilege of obtaining the Tianjin Science and Technology Progress Special Award. In 2020, I received both the Second - Class Science and Technology Progress Award from the China Construction Industry Association and the Group Special Award of the Jianhua Engineering Award. In 2016, I was bestowed with the Group First - Class Award of the Jianhua Engineering Award.
I have actively partaken in the compilation of a series of industry - relevant standards, namely the Technical Specification for Geotechnical Engineering in Tianjin, the Code for Geotechnical Engineering Investigation in Tianjin, the Technical Specification for Multi - section Drilled and Expanded Cast - in - Place Piles, the Technical Specification for Steel - Reinforced Cement - Soil Mixing Wall, the Technical Specification for Support without Struts of Inclined Piles in Foundation Pits in Tianjin, and the Technical Specification for Prestressed Concrete Rectangular Support Piles in Tianjin.
Regarding scientific research, I have either taken the lead or participated in over 20 significant projects, including both the Youth Project and the General Program funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. The total research funding for these projects has surpassed 10 million yuan. I have published over 20 high - calibre papers indexed by SCI and EI databases. Additionally, I have made contributions to the compilation of 3 academic monograph and 5 textbooks.
The scientific research projects I have been associated with are closely integrated with practical engineering applications. I maintain active communication and cooperation with my peers in the civil engineering field, endeavoring to apply research findings to civil engineering projects. This has resulted in remarkable economic and social benefits. I have been responsible for the design and consultation work of nearly 100 projects, such as the National Major Scientific and Technological Infrastructure Project of the Large - scale Earthquake Engineering Simulation Research Facility, the Renheng Haihe Square Project in Tianjin, and Tianjin Joy City. I have also participated in the engineering research and consultation work for Tianjin Metro Lines 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11. The design and consultation work for foundation pit support projects in which I have been involved won the First - Class Award of the "Haihe Cup" Excellent Survey and Design in Tianjin in 2019 and the Second - Class Award in 2021.
As a principal lecturer, I have directly trained nearly a thousand technical experts in the field of geotechnical engineering. This has significantly contributed to elevating the technical capabilities of practitioners in civil and underground engineering and has played a vital role in enhancing the construction safety of civil engineering projects.
