Prof. Guangwei Wang obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Lanzhou University in 1998. After working at Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry (SIOC), he moved to Purdue University in 2004 to pursue his Ph.D. degree under the guidance of Prof. Ei-ichi Negishi (2010 Nobel Prize Laureate). His Ph.D. research work mainly focused on the study towards Pd-catalyzed cross-coupling and Zr-catalyzed carboalumination and their application in natural product synthesis. After two-years’ postdoc in the same group, he came back to Shanghai in 2011 and joined UniTris Biopharma for process study of generic drugs. In 2014, he moved to Tianjin University and to start his independent research career. The current reasearch focues on the transition metal catalyzed transforamtions including copper catalyzed carboboration, difluoroalkylation of unsaturated compounds, and pyridium salts related transformations.
