Jiayi Liu is a Member of Jiusan Society, who has received a degree in Master of Law.  She has started her career as a Research Intern and later as an Assistant Researcher for the Education Academic Exchange Center of the Education Department of Shandong Province in July of 1999 and since then has held posts as Associate Researcher for China Institute for Marine Affairs of the State Oceanic Administration, Deputy Division Chief for the Culture Research Division of Publicity and Education Center of the State Oceanic Administration, Associate Dean and Fellow Researcher for College of Humanities of Zhejiang Ocean University, Deputy Director of China Marine Culture Research Center, and Fellow Researcher for Institute for Marine Strategic Studies of Tianjin University.  She has held academic part-time posts as Supervisor for Graduate Student of Department of Marine Culture and Economics of Ningbo University, Member of the Expert Committee of Institute for Marine Culture of Ocean University of China, and Research Fellow of Marine Culture Industry Research Center of Guangdong Ocean University.
