Weigao Zhao
Male, Han ethnicity, from Zhengzhou, Henan Province, member of the Communist Party of China, Ph.D. in Engineering. In recent years, his research has focused on the interface processes of colloidal pollutants in the environment, specifically studying micro-interface processes of pollutants, secondary pollution processes in water distribution networks, and water purification technologies. Addressing the limitations of the classical filtration theory (CFT) in predicting the transport behavior of colloidal pollutants, he established a multi-scale research and analysis method combining macroscopic (column migration experiments), mesoscopic (microfluidic devices), and microscopic (in-situ mechanical interaction measurement - colloidal probe technique) approaches to deeply analyze the microscopic mechanisms of the deviation of the solid-phase distribution of colloidal pollutants from theoretical predictions. His research results are of significant reference value for accurately predicting the transport behavior of colloidal pollutants in environmental media. He has published over 50 research papers, more than 30 of which are included in SCI. He has applied for over 20 patents, including 20 first-author/corresponding-author English papers, 6 Chinese academic papers, and 12 patents as the first inventor, including 10 invention patents (3 authorized) and 2 utility model patents (2 authorized). He has been invited to serve as a guest editor for journals such as Water and Clean Technol., an editorial board member of the Journal of Contemporary Chemical Research, and a reviewer for journals including Water Res., J. Hazard. Mater., Chemosphere, Sep. Sci. Technol., Sci. Total Environ., Mater. Lett., Civ. Eng. Environ. Syst., and Toxicol. & Environ. Chem.
