天津大学教授,博士生导师,天津市教学名师。兼任中国化工学会化工安全专业委员会副主任委员、中国化工学会化工机械专业委员会委员、中国力学学会波纹管和管道力学专业委员会委员、中国机械工程学会压力容器分会换热器委员会委员、中国机械工程学会压力容器分会设计委员会委员、中国有色金属学会节能减排专业委员会委员、全国锅炉压力容器标准化技术委员会热交换器分技术委员会委员、全国分离机械标准化技术委员会委员、天津市特种设备安全与节能协会副理事长,《压力容器》杂志编委。承担了国家基金委面上项目、国家重点研发项目、天津市科技支撑重点项目以及企事业委托项目60多项,授权发明专利16项,发表科技论文150余篇,主编《化工机械设计基础》、《压力容器安全管理技术》等教材和专著5本,参加备GB151 热交换器及NB/T 47041 塔式容器等标准的制修订工作。
