I have been working at School of Precision Instrument and Opto-electronics Engineering of Tianjin University since Sep. 2015, as a lecturer after I finished my 2-year postdoctoral research in Institute of Modern Optics of Nankai University. I have an overseas study experience at School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Adelaide, Australia, from Dec. 2010 to Dec. 2012, as a visiting PhD student with the cooperation supervisor Assoc. Prof. Withayachumnankul and Prof. Abbott. Now I am responsible for the research of terahertz metamaterials as one of the main research interests in the group of Prof. Jianquan Yao (Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences), affiliated to Institute of Laser and Optoelectronics of Tianjin University.

My research is in the field of terahertz technology and terahertz functional devices based on metamaterials, including the physical interaction mechanism of terahertz wave and novel materials, high-performance active terahertz functional devices and the applications in biomedical, and terahertz target imaging detection technology. As the principle investigator, I have received seven funded research projects with total funding of 2.04 million RMB. The funding sources include National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), National Military Project, and three horizontal projects from the national institute. I have also acted as the key participant in projects like National High-tech R&D Program of China (863), National Basic Research Program of China (973), National Key Research and Development Project, etc. To my point of view, valuable research is cutting-edge, practical, or both. Although many of my research projects were engineering- or application-based, I have been always focusing on basic research and high-impact publications. In my career, I have published more than 70 papers in journals, and among them I acted as the principal author (first or corresponding author) in 31 publications in many top journals for example Biomaterials, Biosensors and Bioelectronics, Carbon, including 2 Front Cove paper and 1 SCI highly cited paper. My h-index is 9, and Citations per paper are 4.24.
