Peng Sen，an associate professor in School of Environmental Science and Engineering, is a master tutor and doctoral supervisor (as a member of the supervisor group). He is also a member of the International Water Association (IWA), and a member of the Ecological River Water Purification Engineering Center in Tianjin.

He mainly studies the simulation and optimization of the environmental system, the municipal pipe network system, the surface water environment system model and its uncertainty research, sponge cities and the ecological maintenance and restoration of the water environment system.

Dr.Peng presided over a number of national, provincial and ministerial research projects, and participated in many national key research projects such as national water projects and science and technology support programs. Dedicated to the public work of water pollution control and ecological management, he has been working with governmental departments and hosted a number of cooperation projects with enterprises. He has obtained 15 patent licenses and published nearly 20 papers, including 10 SCI-retrieved papers. In 2013, he won the second prize of Tianjin science and technology progress award. The National Natural Science Fund Project Simulation of Landscape Water Quality Based on Uncertainty Method under Water Quality Restoration Condition hosted by Dr. Peng was selected as one of the outstanding projects in the fourth youth forum on environmental engineering of NSFC.

Besides, Dr. Peng actively participated in academic exchanges at home and abroad. For example, he participated in the 2016 International Conference on Low Impact Development of Cities, and International Symposium on Sponge Cities and Climate Change, and addressed keynote speeches on both meetings.

Dr.Peng teaches two undergraduate courses, namely Water Transmission and Distribution and Environment protection and Sustainable Development as well as one postgraduate course, e.g. Computer Simulation on Liquid Gas Transmission and Distribution system. He has been constantly improving his teaching proficiency and won the third prize of Tianjin University Young Teachers Teaching Competition.
