Dr. Xinqiao Liu is a Full Professor at the School of Education, Tianjin University. His research focuses on student development, educational economics and policy, and the cultivation of excellence in higher education. He explores how educational environments, academic emotions, and institutional support systems shape student mental health and individual growth. Using methods from educational economics and causal inference, Prof. Liu investigates the underlying patterns of student development, with a particular focus on the heterogeneous trajectories and disparities across different student cohorts.
Prof. Liu is recognized among the Stanford/Elsevier Top 2% Scientists (2025) and Clarivate's ESI Top 1% Scholars, having authored 4 ESI Hot Papers (top 0.1%) and 15 ESI Highly Cited Papers (top 1%). Alongside his research, he serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Social Education Research and holds editorial roles across more than ten international journals. In 2025, he received the Springer Nature Editor of Distinction Award for his work in academic publishing.
