At present, as the project leader he has presided over more than 20 provincial and ministerial level scientific research projects, edited 2 books / monographs, applied for 21 national invention patents, authorized 9, published more than 150 papers, including 100 SCI papers, some of them published in AICHE J., IECR, CEJ, Carbon, ACS, JCIS Wear, and other well-known international journals. He was invited to the international academic conference for 9 times, presided over the 1 Congress, presided over the 3 session of the branch court.
汪怀远，男，1977年11月生，博士，教授，博士生导师，石油与天然气化工研究院院长，国家百千万人才工程国家级人选，国家“有突出贡献的中青年专家”，国家青年拔尖人才，享受国务院特殊津贴，教育部新世纪优秀人才，省杰出青年基金获得者、“龙江学者”省特聘教授，全国百篇优秀博士论文及国家技术发明奖获得者，国家公派悉尼大学访问学者。侯德榜化工科技奖青年奖、孙越崎能源科学技术奖青年奖获得者。
目前，作为负责人主持了20余项省部级以上科研项目，包括“国家特支计划”-青尖计划专项、4项国家自然科学基金、1项全国优博专项、教育部新世纪优秀人才、省杰出青年科学基金等，还先后参加了国家杰青、国家重点基金、863计划等研究。主编专著/教材2部，申请国家发明专利21项，授权9项，发表中英文论文150余篇，其中90余篇SCI/EI，多篇发表在AICHE J, IECR，CEJ，Carbon, ACS，JCIS, Wear等国际知名刊物上，是Carbon、JMCA.、Appl. Surf. Sci.等30余个国际杂志的评审人，9次国际学术会议邀请报告，主持大会1次，主持分会3次。
目前主要学术兼职：中国表面工程学会，委员；国家企业创新学会，咨询专家；中国青科协材料专业委员会，委员；中国复合材料学会青年工作委员会，副主任，委员；国际SPE（Society of Plastics Engineers），MS&T（Materials Science and Technology）协会会员；东北石油大学学术委员会，委员；省管材腐蚀防护技术研发中心，主任；石油与天然气化工研究院，院长，黑龙江省欧美同学会，理事等。国家自然基金、科技部项目、中国博后基金，河北省自然基金等评审专家。
