Zhihua Pu, an associate professor at Tianjin University, awarded the national outstanding doctoral dissertation in the discipline of Instrument Science and Technology from China Instrument and Control Society. His research is carried out in multidisciplinary fields such as flexible electronics, micro-nano sensors, and micro-nano additive manufacturing. He developed a flexible epidermal sensor which could be directly attached to the surface of human skin like a band-aid to achieve painless continuous blood glucose monitoring. He also proposed a rotated inkjet printing additive manufacturing technology to graphically fabricte microstructures on micro-curved surfaces, which was a worldwide problem. He published more than 50 high-level papers; and applied more than 40 patents in which 24 have been issued.
