Brief Introduction

Yongliang Chen  is currently an associate  professor in Tianjin University, China. He received M.S. and Ph.D degrees from the School of Mechanical 

Engineering, Tianjin University in 1997 and 2000 respectively. He received the B.S. degree in the Department of Mechanical engineering, Tianjin University  in 1994.  His current research interests are mainly focused on  design theory and method including adaptable design, robust design and modular design, smart manufacturing machines and application based on open architecture.

Research Interests
  • Design theory and method, including adaptable design, modular design, robust design, open innovation design and development of design tools based on emergent enable technology, such as cloud computing and CAD/CAM/CAE system, etc.
  • Smart manufacturing equipment  and application, including  pull and plug friction welding, speical forming process and  machining, and process and equipment integration for in-situ manufacturing and reparing of offshore platform and other large parts
  • 工业app及数字孪生体驱动的新一代智能互联创新设计系统:典型产品的工业app、数字孪生体构建、智能设计系统开发等,基于几何建模引擎(OCC、ACIS等)、SVM、AI/ML、知识图谱等新一代技术及工具,Qt、C/C++、java、Python等工具进行定制化设计、仿真及测控一体化系统开发技术、CAD/CAM/CAE/PLM二次开发集成技术

锻压装备理论及CAE实验室
与天津市装备设计与制造技术实验室、天津市天锻压力机有限公司、天津市先进焊接技术实验室等单位联合共建,主要从事材料成形、摩擦焊、切削等复合加工装备设计及实验研究,拥有全液压驱动摩擦塞焊原理样机/工程样机、ABB机器人摩擦塞焊主轴系统、4轴开放式数控搅拌摩擦焊机床、五轴数控工具磨床、倍福数控系统、伺服系统、TRIO控制器、LinuxCNC工控机、联想/Dell工作站多台、Labwindows CVI、TRIO Motion Perfect、AMESIM、Qt等实验设备及开发工具等研究与实验条件。
