She received her B.Sc in Biochemistry from University Putra Malaysia and subsequently obtained her Master's and PhD degrees from the University of Nottingham. Her doctoral research focused on the fluorescence modulation mechanisms of DNA-templated silver nanoclusters (DNA-AgNCs) and nucleic-acid based biosensing. She later conducted her postdoctoral research at Kyushu University, working on plasmonic metasurface-based high-resolution live-cell interface imaging for real-time visualization of early cellular adhesion and migration dynamics.
Her current research focuses on programmable nucleic acid fluorescent probes, dynamic live-cell interface imaging, and drug response analysis. She is particular of interest in developing platform for real-time monitoring of molecular dynamics in living cells by integrating programmable nucleic acid nanotechnology, plasmonic bioimaging and AI-assisted sequence and image analysis.
Her research findings have been published in international journals including Nanoscale, Analytica Chimica Acta,Microchimica Acta, Colloids and Surfaces B: Biointerfaces, and others.
She is a Member (MRSC) of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a Community Associate member of the American Chemical Society.
