Bing-Zhi Li received his B.S. degree in Biotechnology from Nankai University in 2005 and his Ph. D. degree in Biochemical Engineering from Tianjin University in 2010. Then he became an assistant professor at School of Chemical Engineering and Technology in Tianjin University and was promoted as full professor in 2017. His main research interests include synthesis of designer genome, and engineered strains for biodegradation and bioconversion of lignocellulose, and the development of new biomass pretreatment methods. He has over 90 publications in peer-reviewed journals. He received several awards including the Changjiang Youth Schoar (MOE), Excellent Young Scholar Fund (NSFC). He is currently the editorial board member for several journals, including Biotechnology for Biofuels, Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, Bioresources and Bioprocessing, Frontiers in Bioenergy Research, Biotechnology Notes, etc.
