Brief Introduction

Qing-Hao Meng, PhD, Professor (doctoral supervisor), vice dean of School of Electrical and Information Engineering (Tianjin University), director of Institute of Robotics and Autonomous System (http://robot.tju.edu.cn).

He received the B.E. and M.E. degrees from Hebei University of Technology, Tianjin, China, in 1991 and 1994, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from Tianjin University (TJU), China, in 1997. He was a Research Associate with Bundeswehr University Munich (Germany) and the University of Applied Sciences Ravensburg-Weingarten (Germany) from 2000 to 2003. He has been a Professor with the School of Electrical and Information Engineering, TJU, since 2004. In 2007, he was the winner of Education Ministry's New Century Excellent Talents Supporting Plan.

Over the past 10 years, he was the PI of more than 10 key projects, including the National Key Research and Development Plan, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the ‘863’ Plan of Ministry of Science and Technology of China, the Sino German International Cooperation Program and Tianjin Science and Technology Support Plan. He has published more than 200 research papers and has been granted more than 10 invention patents in China. His current research interests include bionic olfaction, autonomous robot perception, navigation, and control.
