Zhang Qi was born in Tianjin in 1957. He graduated from School of Architecture, Tianjin University in 1983 for bachelor;s degree, and the same school in 1986 for master's degree. And he accomplished his doctor's degree in Kobe University in 1996.  Zhang Qi is currently a professor in School of Architecture, Tianjin University, being dean of School of Architecture. He is a member of  Chinese Architecture Colleges and Universities Assessment Commitee, a member of the seventh session of Disciplinary Review Group of the State Council Academic Degree Commitee, a Chinese government subsidy expert, and a director of Architecture Society of China(ASC).

      Zhang Qi is an expert and practitioner in the aspects of architecture renewl, architectural heritage reservation,Low-energy-consumption public space design, rural settlement renewal and traditional dwelling reservation. 

     1957年出生于中国天津；1983年毕业于天津大学，建筑学专业本科；1986年毕业于天津大学，建筑学专业硕士；1996年毕业于神户大学，建筑学专业博士。

    教授，博士，博士生导师，天津大学建筑学院院长；全国高等院校建筑学专业评估委员会委员；第七届国务院学位委员会学科评议组成员；政府特殊津贴专家；中国建筑学会常务理事。

    长期从事建筑更新、建筑遗产保护、低能耗公共建筑空间设计、乡村聚落更新与传统民居保护等理论研究和设计实践，现担任教育部“111引智计划”《低碳城市与建筑创新引智基地》负责人，主持国家自然科学基金重点项目“寒冷气候区低能耗公共建筑空间设计理论与方法”，发表相关论文五十余篇。
