Personal Profile

Yanjun Zhao obtained a B.S. degree in Applied Chemistry (Polymer) at Dalian University of Technology, China in 2002, a M.S. degree in Biochemical Engineering at Dalian Institute of Chemical Phyiscs (CAS) in 2005 (with Prof. Xiaojun Ma), and a Ph.D. degree in Pharmacy at King’s College London (UK) in 2010 with Dr. Stuart Jones and Prof. Marc Brown. He was a reseach scientist in MedPharm Ltd. (UK) for half a year in 2009. In 2010, he joined the School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology (SPST), Tianjin University as a lecturer. He was promoted to associate professor and full professor in 2012 and 2018, respectively. He is a member of postgraduate interview committee, academic committee, and academic degree committee in SPST. He has co-authored over 80 publications in the areas of drug delivery, biomaterials, cancer therapy, ferroptosis, and nanobiotechnology. He reveived the Dorothy Hodgkin Postgraduate Award (2005), Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad (2009), AAPS PST Distinguished Award (2012), Tianjin University “Elite Scholar” Award (2013),  and Excellent Undergraduate Thesis Mentor (2016).
