Prof. Chunpeng Yang joined Tianjin University as a professor in 2021. He received his B.S. degree from University of Science and Technology of China in 2011 and Ph.D. degree from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2016. He conducted postdoctoral research in Prof. Liangbing Hu’s group in the University of Maryland at College Park in 2016-2021.
Prof. Yang's research focuses on safe and efficient energy-storage materials and devices (lithium metal batteries, solid-state batteries, etc.), biomaterials for sustainable energy storage, and ultrafast synthesis of energy-related nanomaterials. His work has been published in Nature, Nat. Commun., Sci. Adv., PNAS, J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Adv. Mater. etc. He has been selected as a Clarivate Analytics Global Highly Cited Researcher (2024, 2025) and Stanford University “World’s Top 2% Scientist” (2024, 2025).
