Dr. Pingqing Fu is a Chair Professor of Atmospheric Chemistry and Biogeochemistry in the School of Earth System Science, Tianjin University. He received Ph.D in Geochemistry from the Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IGCAS) in 2004. From 2005 to 2006, he worked in IGCAS as an Associate Professor. From 2006 to 2011 he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Low Temperature Science, Hokkaido University, Japan. Dr. Fu returned to Beijing in 2011 and joined the Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences as a Full Professor. He joined Tianjin Univeristy as a Chair Professor since 2018. 

Professor Fu has been a continuous holder of the grants from NSF of China and CAS. His research focuses on organic matter in the atmosphere, river and ocean, as well as ice cores at a molecular level as it relates to long-range transport, photochemical degradation, and climate change. He has authored and co-authored more than 380 scientific papers in peer-reviewed international journals. He serves as Associate Editor of npj Climate and Atmospheric Science, and Carbon Research.
