Prof. Zongwei Xu is Full Professor for College of Precision Instrument & Opto-electronics Engineering at Tianjin University, China. He got his PhD degree in 2007 from Harbin Institute of Technology, China. He academic visited University of Huddersfield, and University of Strathclyde in 2013, Ruhr University Bochum in 2016. His research directions include Defect engineering in Wide Band Gap (WBG) semiconductor, micro/nanofabrication using Focused ion Beam (FIB) and Femtosecond Laser (fs), Color Center in WBG, Raman spectroscopy, Photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy, Atomistic Simulation, etc.
As Principal Investigator (PI), three National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) projects, five International Cooperation and Exchange projects, including one Newton Fund project have been granted. Prof. Xu has published more than 80 papers (10+ TOP Journal papers), 2 books, 5 book chapters, 14 patents. He has delivered more than 20+ invited talks at top international conferences and micro/nanotechnology research institutes. He was selected as representative on advanced manufacturing topic by Chinese academy of engineering (CAE) and participate "4th China-America Frontiers of Engineering Symposium" in USA, 2015. He was awarded as "Young Researchers" in the 3rd Asian Precision Engineering and Nanotechnology International Conference in 2009, and the 14th China-Japan International Conference on Ultra-Precision Machining Process (CJUMP2018) in 2018. He is the Associate Editor of Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science (2017-), the Outstanding Editor of Nanotechnology and Precision Engineering (2019, 2020, 2021). He was invited as guest editor for Current Nanoscience in 2016, Nanotechnology and Precision Engineering in 2020. He served as Academic/Organizing Committee Member for 30+ international conferences.
