Niu Qian earned her BA(2003), MA(2007) and Ph.D.(2010) at Tianjin Normal University and has been at Tianjin University since 2010. From 2011 to 2012 she taught at Chungnam National University in South Korea. Her research is mainly focused on  classical Chinese literature, especially classical poem and verse, which she has kept in the traditional way of reading and chanting. Meanwhile she is interested in Ming-Qing fiction and drama. She also has written theses in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
