Dr Wei received the Bachelor Degree in Industrial Electrical Engineering, Master Degree in Control Theory and Control Engineering, and Ph. D. Degree in Signal and Information Processing from Tianijn University, respectively. He worked as a postdoctor in Control Science and Engineering, Tianjin Univeristy from Jul. 2007 to Oct. 2009. He is currently an Associate Professor (master/doctoral supervisor) in School of Electrical and Information Engineering, Tianijn University. He participated the research on nonlinear intelligent control as a Research Assistant in the Department of Electrical Engineering, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University from Jan. 2007 to Jul. 2007. And he performed the research on epilepsy propagation and neural modulation as visiting scholar sponsored by Chinese government at Department of Biomedical Engineering, Center of Neural Engineering, Case Western Reserve University, U.S.A. He is in charge of three projects supported by National Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and one project supported by Tianjin Municipal Natural Science Foundation. He has published more than 40 academic papers indexed in SCI database, applied more than 10 national invention patents, published an academic book in neural modeling and control engineering, and was awarded the second prize of Natural Science of Ministry of Education.

2007年7月获得天津大学信号与信息处理专业博士学位；2007年7月至2009年10月在天津大学电气与自动化工程学院控制科学与工程学科从事博士后研究；2009年至今，在天津大学电气自动化与信息工程学院任教，副教授，硕士生和博士生导师；2007年1月至2007年7月，在香港理工大学电机工程系开展学术访问，从事非线性智能控制的相关研究。2015年9月至2016年9月作为国家公派访问学者，在美国凯斯西储大学生物医学工程系神经工程中心开展癫痫传播和神经调控机理的相关研究。主持三项国家自然科学基金，主持一项天津市自然科学基金重点项目，参与多项国家和省部级科研项目，已发表SCI检索论文40余篇，申请发明专利10余项，出版学术专著一部，荣获教育部自然科学奖二等奖。
