TJU at 18th China International Industry Fair and Future Manufacturing Summit

The 18th China International Industry Fair was held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) from November 1 to November 5, 2016. The “Intelligent Manufacturing System” created by the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation of TJU was invited to display their project in the university-industry cooperation exhibition area. During the exhibition, teachers from School of Electrical Engineering and Automation Lab Center showed their Intelligent Manufacturing System which was based on an experimental teaching idea. This system implemented an intelligent manufacturing function which includes users’ personalized purchases through the Internet, the factory server’s automatic order arrangement and production equipment and automatically producing an order according to demand.

The e-f@ctory Future Manufacturing Summit 2016 was also held during the Exhibition.

Around 10 domestic and foreign entrepreneurs from the industrial manufacturing field and experts and scholars from nearly a hundred universities participated in this event.

A total of 5 experts and scholars were invited by the summit to give reports on the topic of intelligent manufacturing. Tan Jianrong, an academician of the China Academy of Engineering and the chief scientist of the “937” Project, made a speech entitled “Interpretation and Realization of Made in China 2025” at the opening of this summit. In the speech, Tan analyzed the directions for and key technological issues of future intelligent manufacturing from the perspective of a comprehensive strategic layout.

From the perspective of the university educator, Yuan Hao, a researcher of the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation, and Jin Licheng, a young teacher of the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation, both delivered a report entitled “Uncovering the Mastery of Intelligent Manufacturing”. They gave a detailed explanation of how the TJU School of Electrical Engineering and Automation Lab Center utilized the “Network Simulation Beer Automation Production Line” platform to teach students intelligent manufacturing and the mastery of it. Their report received high recognition from the participants, especially from the university representatives.

At the summit, Du Jinsong, a researcher from the Shenyang Institute of Automation Chinese Academy of Science, and Rong Gang, counselor from e-f@ctory of Mitsubishi Electric, China-factory Automation, made speeches to share concepts of modern automation technology and the direction of intelligent manufacturing.
