Student Xuan Liyan Won the Special Award of 2015 Baosteel Outstanding Student

On November 15, 2015, Xuan Liyan, an undergraduate student, from the grade of 2012 from the School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, Tianjin university (TJU) won the Special Award of 2015 Baosteel Outstanding Student. For three consecutive years since 2013, students from TJU have won the Special Prize of 2015 Baosteel Outstanding Student. At present, TJU is ranked sixth amongst all universities in China in terms of the number of students who have won this award.

Xuan Liyan is from a county in Zhejiang, and her family is extraordinarily poor. After her enrollment, she worked extremely hard and constantly strove to improve herself. She won the national scholarships in three consecutive years, successively won the Eighth “Star Student of Self-improvement at TJU”, the 21st Top Ten Outstanding Youth (Students) of TJU, 2014 TJU’s Scholarship of Outstanding Pacemaker to Student and 2014 Student in Tianjin Who Moved Campus. The Baosteel Education Award was established in 1990, and mainly targets students from the junior colleges and universities, and postgraduate students directly under the Ministry of Education, Shanghai Education Committee, and the China Metallurgical Education Society. The judges are presidents or leaders of relevant colleges and universities. This award is one of the most popular education awards in China. Baosteel Outstanding Student Award is one of the Baosteel Education Awards. This year, the Baosteel Outstanding Student Award was awarded to 500 students throughout the country, with each student receiving ten thousand Yuan. The Special Award of Baosteel Outstanding Student Award was awarded to 25 students, with each student receiving twenty thousand Yuan.
