
On November 5, 2015, Chai Jinzhu, Deputy Director of the North Sea Maritime Security Center, Wang Yulin, Director of the Tianjin Aerial Science and Technology Center and six colleagues signed the “Science and Technology Agreement" and"An Agreement to Establish a Joint e-Navigation Laboratory”with Tianjin University (TJU). Yuan YingJin, Vice President of TJU, and leaders from the Office of Science and Technology and the School of Marine Science and Technology participated in the signing ceremony.
The agreement is designed to capitalize on the respective advantages in teaching and research, talents training, and applications of research and teaching in industry of the School of Marine Science and Technology of Tianjin University and Tianjin Aerial Science and Technology Center.Through cooperative research on policies, theories, technologies, standards and other aspects of e-maritime concepts, the agreement establishes a science and research system that fosters the development of an e- navigation system. In order to improve national role in relevant international organizations as well as to cultivate innovative talents for this field, a new platform was built and new models explored.
After the signing ceremony, representatives from both parties held further discussions. During the discussion, both parties expressed that they would regard the cooperative agreement as a significant milestone. In addition, they would continue to deepen their cooperation in science, research and technology in maritime security, and build an open e-maritime technology platform to promote science and technology development of maritime security.
