On October 27, 2015, the signing ceremony of Tianjin University (Yantai) Technology Transfer Center was held at the Yantai Economic and Technological Development Zone (YEDA). Wang Yueyi, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Committee and Working Committee Secretary of YEDA, Xu Qiandong, the former director of the Science and Technology Bureau, Zhang Huazhi, member of the Working Committee and Propaganda Minister, Wang Yan, Deputy Secretary of the Party and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline, Yang Minghai, Vice President of the Scientific Research Institute and Director of the Technology Transfer Center attended the event. The ceremony was hosted by Ding Hui, the Director of the Yantai Municipal Development Zone Science and the Intellectual Property Office.
Zhang Huazhi announced that innovation is the distinctive feature and motivation of new economies. In recent years, Yantai focused on the innovative construction of the development zone and strove to build diversified innovation platforms. In addition, the government makes every effort to set up an innovative system, by establishing enterprises as its central function. The system is market-oriented and has shown significant vitality. The establishment of the center will contribute to the acceleration of its innovative development. To expand and accelerate technological developments, the development zone will comply with all the plans of research and construction of the center.
Wang Yan stated that the center is a base for the cooperation between Tianjin University and Yantai. Concurrently, Tianjin University would capitalize on its technologies and expertise, and regard highly the needs of the national strategy. Tianjin University plans to exert a positive influence on enterprises and the local economy by adopting more pragmatic attitudes in order to advance the scientific and technological achievements.
