Dr. Huang is interesting in the pathogenic and immunological mechanisms between pathogenic microorganisms (viruses, bacteria and their toxin products) and their host. Especially, he focuses on to discover novel cellular molecules which medicate interaction of pathogens and host, and to understanding the modification regulation roles of them in microbes pathogenesis and immune response. In addition, he aims to understanding the pathogenesis & immunological mechanisms of pathogens and development of integrated monitor and control strategies to improve human and animal health.

Research interests

1) Immunobiology.  Including Mining and functional of novel immune cells and their marker molecules: Based on the big data of omics, to clone and unearth the new molecules of plasma membrane, organelle membrane or cytoplasm, which perform regulation roles as transcription factors, nucleic acid binding proteins, enzymes in the transcription, modification, transport and signal transduction process to understand the mechanism of them in innate immunity and adaptive immune regulation. Design of innate immune regulatory molecular circuits and remodeling of cellular pathways; Design and regulation mechanisms of natural and artificial adjuvants targeted cellular receptors.

(2) Microbial synthetic biology. The design, construction, metabolic regulation and health reshape mechanisms of engineering Probiotics; Large scale transformation and reconstruction technology of resource microbial genome; Research and development of engineered oral mucosal vaccine based on engineering yeast, phage and bacteria; construction of new vaccine design and intelligent manufacturing technology system; Engineering construction, high-throughput screening and application development of animal pathogenic antibody library.

(3) The pathogenic and innate immune mechanism of pathogenic microbes infection. Including the mechanisms of immune escape from viral infection; Rapid rescue of animal virus and development of engineering vaccine; Construction of Predictive vaccinology theory and technique evaluation platform in anti-infection immunity.

Six faculty, including 2 professor,3 associate professor,1 lecturer worked in M & I group.
More than 20 master and Ph.D candidate students engaged in the research of molecular microbiology and immunology.
Good research platform was developed on our lab, which involved in some basic research, such as,pathogenesis & immunological mechanisms of viruses,innate immunity & immune evasion mechanisms in viral infections;the immune regulation roles of natural adjuvants on innate immunity;microorganism synethetic biology based on yeast, phage and viral vectors; Some bio-products exploration about the new bio-technique vaccines, adjuvants and diagnosis kits were also developed in our lab.
